Darby

For those of you who know me
you'll know that I'm not the kind of
mom that likes having helpers when I
bake or do crafts...
But when you have a kid like Darby
sometimes it's easier to just give in.
My little man loves to bake!
And without Grandma or Nanny close by
sometimes I have to just give in.
He wanted to make cinnamon pull aparts.
The package had been in the cupboard for ages!!
I wanted oatmeal cookies!!!
The dough was a little tough to work with.
Took a lot of extra flour.
I helped with the dough a bit.
It felt funny when we were working
with it. I didn't think much on it though.
They were sopose to rise a bit.
Still I shrugged it off.
Even the icing was tuff to work with.
He was so proud of himself!
Then when I tasted them....
they tasted old!
But Dale and Darby liked them.
Breanna like me did not.
Later on after half of them where gone,
Dale looked at the box because there was still
another batch in there.
He discovered the expiry date...
2009!!!!
No wonder they didn't taste right!!
Needless to say we through the rest out!
Now when were hauling boxes out of
the cubboard we are checking the dates
on everything!!!

Darby -vs- the Volcano

So Darby was doing a project at school
 on Mt. Aso in Japan.
To better his grade he decided to
make a volcano out of
paper mache.
With daddy's help of course.
All I did was mix the goop then left.
So serious!
Look at the awesome job my man did
with the painting!!
Unfortunately it didn't exploded the  way he
had hoped.
Oh well. All in all he did a great job!!
Even if he didn't get a good mark like he
had hoped :(
The grading here is waaayyy to tuff!
But that's a whole different jar of pickles.

Kids!

Breanna got a hair cut!!
She's been asking for awhile now.
So our friend Kathy came over on her
lunch break one day and chopped it all off!!
Sorry Kathy I had to post the first snips.
An inverted bob.
See the look on her face!!!
She wanted more layers.....
So Kathy took the scissors to her head again.
Bre loves it!
Thanks Kathy your the best!!

Working out!!

Alright, the end of the month!
Time to weigh in...
Starting weight... 192lbs
Current weight... 180lbs!
Total weight loss... 12lbs!!
Woo Hoo!
Now I know in the real world that's
not a whole hell of a lot.
But this is MY world!!
* happy dance *
I will admit that I haven't been doing
much in the way of actual weight loss.
Just spending most of my time outside.
I guess I should pick up the pace while walking the
dogs, or start going further...
Any way all that matters is that I'm
happy, and I am!

in my home!!
Oh well.

Birds

We put up a Humming bird feeder this year.
 They are crazy up here.
Never have I seen so many humming birds in
my life.
This little guy has decided that our feeder
belongs to him!!
He sits here just far enough away to watch
his feeder.
Then if another bird comes to close he
goes in for the attack!!
It made me smile today.
Everytime I look out the dinning room
window, there he is, chasing all
others away.
This one slinks in while the other one is
off chasing others.
Did you know that they have huge eyes?
I had no idea.
Q: Why do Humming Birds hum?
A: Cause they forgot the lyrics!!

I know total cheese, but it had to be said.

Little Gardens

Our little gardens are coming along
nicely now.
We have been very busy.
But I think in the battle against
the weeds... the weeds are winning!
Ugh!
I have never realized how much
work went into gardening!
I'm sooooo tired.
This is the front garden.
Two of each,
green pepper
yellow pepper
red pepper
jalapeno pepper.
1 hot Thai pepper.
These are my 3 blueberry bushes.
I have high hopes for these!
Also there are 3 tomato plants.
I know it's crazy right!
Plus I've got 4 Strawberry planters...
All at different stages.
mmmmmmm.... strawberries!
Now to make sure none of it dies!!
